Math Game

Today we sent home a new game!

Students played this game in December.

EXPLORE AND DISCOVER

On Friday, we started our winter session of Explore and Discover time. 

Ask your child what activity they are doing and who their teacher is during this time. 

Parachutes

On Thursday, students used string, a plastic bag and perhaps some tape to create a parachute. 

They tested their parachutes using a small toy figure.

This was a fun and challenging science experience. 

It also helped us practice perseverance and sticking with difficult tasks. 

Students were given the added challenge of trying to improve their parachutes at home. 

Fort Calgary Field Trip

On Tuesday, January 28th we will be going to Fort Calgary!

We will leave the school at 9:15 and return at 3:00.

We will require 5 volunteers for each class. 

Please contact your room parent if you have security clearance and are able to volunteer.

Forms will be going home tomorrow. 

Literacy Groups

This week we started a new round of literacy groups. Many students have new literacy teachers or spaces on Tuesdays. Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Ask your child who they are working with during guided reading. 

Welcome Mrs. O'Neill

Happy New Year!

We hope that everyone had a safe, healthy, and relaxing winter break.

Rooms 20 and 21 are excited to welcome Mrs. O'Neill back to our school. She will be the teacher in Room 21 until the end of the year. Mrs. Holman and Mrs. O'Neill are looking forward to teaching together for the rest of the year. 

Families will have the opportunity to meet Mrs. O'Neill at our Celebration of Learning at the end of the month.

Building Pin Wheels

Today we made pin wheels in Science. 

The students were very excited to take them home.
