Remembrance Day

Today we moved our discussions from peace to Remembrance Day.
We read the story, A Poppy Is to Remember
We discussed why we wear a poppy and the significance of Remembrance Day.
Mrs. Holman shared that her family (Dad and brother) both served with the Canadian Forces and completed peace keeping missions.
We talked about expectations for tomorrow's assembly and listened to Taps and Reveille.

After reading the story and discussing it, we coloured in poppies using oil pastels.
At the end of the day Ms. Le, Ms. Kolkman, and Mrs. Holman placed our poppies on black paper to be displayed at the assembly tomorrow.
