Expected vs. Unexpected

What a funny lesson we had today! Mrs. Holman surprised the students by demonstrating some very unexpected behaviours. She walked into the quiet classroom, where both classes were meeting with Ms. Li, and she was talking loudly about a party on her cell phone. She then burped, rather loudly and rudely in front of the class. Next she sat on a table and then laid down on it. It was very weird and many students were wondering what was happening. When Mrs. Holman picked her nose and wiped it on the carpet (yuck) half of the students erupted in laughter while the other half looked on with disgust. After some more loud talking she sat on her chair backwards. Finally, she picked her nose and ate it, ugh.

Good news, Mrs. Holman was acting! She did not really pick her nose and nobody was on the phone with her. The class discussed how the incident was funny but also made them feel uncomfortable. Unexpected behaviours make us uncomfortable. We talked about expected ways Mrs. Holman should have behaved and why these expectations are part of our class.

Please continue the conversation about expected and unexpected behaviours in your home.  Image result for expected vs unexpected behaviors
