Sorting

Students learned about sorting today. We practiced as a class sorting objects by one attribute and two attributes. The curriculum expectations for sorting are as follows:

Grade 1 - Sort objects, using one attribute, and explain the sorting rule.
Grade 2 - Sort a set of objects, using two attributes, and explain the sorting rule.

  Students were then given shapes to sort. They were given the choice to sort by one attribute or two (end of unit expectations were made clear), and then they completed a sort and explained their sorting rule.
