Today we had our First Great Lesson. Students learned the scientist explanation of how the Earth and universe was created. They have been asked to talk with their families about how they think the Earth was created and what may have created the "Big Bang".
The grade 2s were excited to know what would happen when the balloon with glitter was popped to represent the explosion. Sparkles went everyone creating some nice art which is on display.
Particles went flying through the universe and clumped together. Some of these clumps formed into stars and planets. The earth was very hot but the coldness of space cooled the outer layer creating a crust. Some of the inner heat escaped through volcanoes.
As heat escaped from the volcanoes condensation occurred.
